The Institute of Medieval Studies takes the opportunity of the VIIth centenary of the Council of Vienne to focus its attention to this theme. The Council of Vienne is famously known for the condamnation of the Order of the Temple. Indeed our annual research seminar proposes a full seance dedicated to the KnightsTemplar. But it also proposes some doctrinal aspects of the Council that are sometimes less studied or more forgotten by the historians: the question of the Minor Orders, the assertion of the soul as form of the body, the question of the studies of Oriental languages, the status of the beguines.
The seances will take place at the Catholic University of Paris, 21, rue d'Assas 75006 Paris on Mondays, from 5 pm to 8 pm at the following dates: December 5, January 9, February 2, March 12, April 16, May 14.
