The library also possesses important ancient and patrimonial collections: cuneiform tablets, printed matters and manuscripts, ancient photographs, maps, as well as writers’ or scholars’ libraries.

To access these documents, please note the following requirements.

Access and registration

• CUP Students: a valid student card
• ILCF Students: Consult the secretariat of the ILCF
• CUP Teachers: a valid card can be obtained from the University Secretariat. The card is valid for the academic year and must be renewed every year.
• CUP Auditors and part-time students: optional library inscription, available in the University Secretariat
• CUP external (private citizens, not enrolled at CUP): library cards can be purchased in the University Secretariat.

Purchasing a CUP library card allows access and borrowing privileges except where otherwise noted:

The Jean de Vernon Library (BOSEB The Ecumenical and Biblical Studies Library and IFEB French Institute of Byzantine Studies), does NOT include borrowing privileges

yearly card: 120 €
semester card: 70 €

Short-term library cards:

2-month card: 40 €, does NOT include borrowing privileges

6-entry card (valid for 1 year): 20 €, does NOT include borrowing privileges
Unused entries cannot be carried over to the following year.
This card is available at the library upon proof of payment from the University Secretariat and a photo.

1-day pass: 5 €, does NOT include borrowing privileges, available at CUP reception desk.

Cards are sold in the University Secretariat (staircase A, 1st mezzanine to the left). Reduced rates available for those meeting certain requirements. Details available at each library or the University Secretariat. A passport photo is necessary for purchase.

A student or library card must be presented to the library staff when entering the reading room.
