Catholic University of Paris becomes a member of IAU

International institutional recognition : in December 2011, ICP’s application to join the IAU was accepted. This UNESCO-based international association was founded in 1950 to develop and promote academic exchanges throughout the world.

More than 600 universities

At the end of 2011, 604 universities and 27 institutional members from 120 countries belonged to the IAU (International Association of Universities)

The IAU promotes all over the world higher education, research, education services and human values linked with education as solidarity, justice and cooperation.

Its actions are more particularly concentrated on the following subjects :
-sustainable development
-education access and equity
-research and doctorates programmes
-intercultural dialogue
-internationalization and education for all
The IAU offers to its members important database about higher education in the world, publishes a scientific review and one magazine, Horizons IAU, and proposes also an assistance service for internationalization.
As a new member of the IAU, the Catholic University of Paris will be able now to benefit from new cooperation opportunities with the IAU universities members, new calls and new scholarship programmes, more particularly for Research.

This membership is part of the current development of a larger international institutional influence of the Catholic University of Paris.
