Higher Institute for Ecumenical Studies (ISEO)
Created at the instigation of the Institut Catholique, the aim of the ISEO was to further ecumenical study and research by engaging in deeper theological and pastoral reflection into the whole raft of problems pertaining to the ecumenical movement in its many manifestations.
It is a shared project between the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies, to which it is formally attached, the Paris Faculty of the Protestant Theological Institute and the Saint Serge Institute for Orthodox Theology. It is under the patronage of the Council of Christian Churches in France, and guided by an advisory council mandated by the member Churches. One feature of the ISEO is that professors from a variety of different confessions give joint lectures and seminars to students from various different Church traditions.
